      Your opportunity:

      Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Graduate Programs and working closely with the Graduate Program Coordinator, the Research Stream Graduate Programs Manager provides leadership support for the Facultyof Law’s Master of Laws (LLM), Master in the Studies of Law (MSL), and Doctor of Juridical Sciences (SJD) programs. The incumbent is responsible for providing program development, strategic input, and functional direction to ensure that the faculty’s graduate programs are effectively managed, students are provided with the highest caliber of support, and faculty are provided with the direction and support needed for the Faculty of Law to maintain its reputation for excellence.

      The incumbent will provide leadership to the team that supports the LLM, MSL and SJD programs and will be expected to build and expand on an existing framework of responsibilities, actively seeking innovative ways to enhance and improve the programs and the services that the faculty offers its students, by ensuring that they are provided with timely, accurate, and student-centered support delivered at the highest standards possible.

      This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.


      Your responsibilities will include:

      • Overseeing day-to-day operational needs and service delivery requirements of programs
      • Planning and overseeing the implementation of an evaluation framework for programs and initiatives
      • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing program activities
      • Determining logistical details required for the execution of admissions processes
      • Analyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvements
      • Keeping well-informed on changes to policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirements

      Essential Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
      • Minimum five (5) years of recent and related experience providing program administration for a graduate program in a post-secondary environment.
      • Demonstrated experience providing academic advising to current and prospective graduate students, including ensuring that applicants are supported in making an informed decision about which of the Faculty's graduate programs is well suited to their needs and circumstances.
      • Experience working directly with students to provide program and student services information, including in the areas of recruitment, admissions, registration, course enrollment, degree requirements, financial aid and awards, and information about convocation and degree completion.
      • Experience administering graduate admissions processes, including evaluating applications and credentials, recommending applications for referral, tracking application status, maintaining application and admissions records, processing admissions decisions on Slate and ROSI (or comparable systems) and generating all admissions documentation.
      • Experience developing and delivering student recruitment presentations, and updating content on websites and in marketing materials.
      • Experience reviewing applications for financial aid, making recommendations regarding award and scholarship eligibility, processing awards on ROSI, and managing internal and external awards funding and graduate funding packages, including drafting applications for major external awards.
      • Experience managing student records, including ensuring that students meet all degree and concentration specific requirements.
      • Experience supporting doctoral students as they move through their doctoral studies, including ensuring that all degree requirements are met.
      • Experience creating and maintaining databases, and extracting, analyzing, and arranging relevant information in reports to inform admissions, funding and other decision making.
      • Advanced skills in ROSI, ROSI Express, Quercus, Slate, eMarks, or similar student systems to enter data, retrieve information, and generate reports.
      • Proficiency in Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive) and SharePoint.
      • Proven understanding and application of equity, diversity, and inclusion theories as applicable for post-secondary students.
      • A strong customer service orientation, and effective interpersonal skills to deal with students, staff and faculty with professionalism and tact.
      • Demonstrated ability to organize work and establish priorities in a flexible way, and successfully meet deadlines with competing priorities and interruptions.

      Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
      USW Pay Band 14 -- $88,290 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $112,911. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
