Neogen Corporation is seeking a Research Technician to join our Microbiology Product Research and Development team. In this role, you will contribute to the innovation, development, and validation of novel food safety solutions while also supporting existing products across Neogen’s Microbiology portfolio. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in microbiology or related sciences who are passionate about applying their knowledge to real-world food safety applications.

This role follows an onsite model to accommodate business needs while maintaining team collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct experimental testing of product performance at multiple stages of production.

Order necessary materials and ensure purchases are coded to the appropriate project budget.

Prepare reagents required for experimentation.

Record experimental results, analyze data, and provide result summaries to senior team members.

Maintain proper documentation of experimental data/observations in electronic files and lab notebooks.

Maintain lab equipment and records (e.g., pH meters, incubators) in compliance with 5S/GLP standards.

Assist senior team members in troubleshooting commercialized product performance.

Develop working knowledge of Neogen’s products and processes.

Education and Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biological Science, or related field.

Preferred:

• 1–2 years of research and/or laboratory experience, especially in executing experimental plans, reagent preparation, data analysis, and reporting.

• Knowledge of foodborne pathogens, spoilage organisms, and common microbiological culture media or diagnostic methods.
