      Fujitsu Research of America (FRA) is inviting applications out for an entry-level research staff member position in quantum algorithms. Selected candidate will work from FRA’s Sunnyvale office. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics with focus on quantum information processing.

      Job responsibilities:

      1. Develop novel quantum algorithms (for fault-tolerant quantum devices or NISQ devices or both) and demonstrate their applicability for real-world business problems.
      2. Design experiments on NISQ devices or quantum simulators to demonstrate quantum advantage whenever applicable.
      3. Publish research papers in reputed scientific journals, conferences, and/ or workshops. Showcase the work via presentation in invited talks, conferences and workshops, and/ or poster sessions.
      4. Advance team as well as FRA goals through academic as well as industrial collaborations.

      Essential requirements:

      1. PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics with extensive research background in the area of quantum computing.
      2. Strong publication record demonstrated by accepted or published research papers in high quality conferences and/ or journals.
      3. At least 4 years of research experience working in quantum computing and information.

      Preferred requirements:

      1. Strong background and knowledge in quantum algorithms, quantum-inspired algorithms, and classical-quantum hybrid algorithms.
      2. Knowledge of areas such as financial modeling, machine learning, and optimization where quantum algorithmic applications can be found.
      3. Coding experience in C++, JAVA, or Python.
