Job Description
- Req#: req18873
- Performing research which includes development of algorithms for very
accurate quantum mechanical calculation of the energy levels of atomic
and molecular systems. - Writing complex computer codes and implementing these codes on
high-performance supercomputers. - Studying spectra of small atoms and molecules with the calculations
performed using the implemented algorithms. - Preparing the results of the research for publication.
- Editing manuscripts, submitting manuscripts for publication and
overseeing the publication process. Also, will disseminate the research
results through conference presentations. - Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Physics or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics or both preferred.
- Experience with performing complex mathematical derivations and managing large quantities of data.
- Experience and extended background in computer programming and computer operations preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and experience of computer programming languages such as parallel Fortran, Python, CC+, etc.
- Extended training and experience in mathematics which would include an emphasis on Matrix Algebra and Anaytical Calculus preferred.

Will perform research which includes development and Computational implementation of algorithms for very accurate quantum mechanical calculation of the energy levels of atomic and molecular systems. It also includes writing computer programs where the algorithm parallelization is implemented using the Message Passing Interface protocol.
