Job Description

- Patrols University Properties in a vehicle and on foot to provide security and enforce traffic laws. Responds to public calls for service.
- Enforces Federal,State, Local, and University laws and regulations. Arrests and or issues citations to violator's of law.
- Conducts formal investigations of criminal activity. Prepares case reports and other forms of documentation. Testifies in court of law and University hearings. Attends a minimum of 40 hours of training as required by Utah POST. Maintains a working relationship with state and local law enforcement agencies. Performs public relations activities. Assist fellow officers at special functions as assigned.
- Knowledge of the Utah State Code, local laws and ordinances.
- Skills in use of firearm and able to qualify semi annually.
- Skills in the operation of a vehicle in a emergency situations.
- Skills in investigative procedures.
- Skills in interpersonal communication and problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively in high stress situations and show good decision-making.
- Ability to operate computer software (word processor, report writing system.
- Ability to walk, run, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to maintain control in a high stress situation.
- Ability to pass a full background investigation.
Utah Valley University is seeking two part-time Reserve Police Officers! The Reserve Police Officer enforces local, state, and federal laws and ensures compliance with University policies. Provides security for personnel, real property, and equipment. Investigates and documents crimes/incidents preserve evidence and testifies in court and student code of conduct hearings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from POST or Utah POST Certifiable.
Licenses or Certifications:
Valid Drivers License.
