      Essential Duties and Qualifications


      Virginia Health Services is hiring a Resident Care Assistant at Walter Reed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located in Gloucester, VA. This can be a Part Time or Full Time position .

      The Resident Care Assistant has the following responsibilities:

      • Maintains resident rooms and nursing unit in accordance with infection control standards.
      • Maintains confidentiality of all resident information.
      • Complies with established policies and procedures.
      • Provides a comfortable, clean and safe environment for residents and assures that Residents' Rights are honored and protected.
      • Works with the interdisciplinary team to assist in achieving planned resident goals.
      • Participates in orientation and in-service education programs
      • Assumes duties at any Virginia Health Services unit/facility as required.
      • Understands the function of the VHS Compliance Program, HIPAA Regulations and Privacy Policy as outlined in the employee handbook.

      Qualifications and Requirements:

      • Gerontological experience preferred.
      • Ability to write simple correspondence.
      • Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions.
      • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
