      What we are looking for!

      Starting at $19.50/hour we are looking for a t emporary Resident Monitor at the Re-Entry Center, we work in partnership with the Washington Department of Corrections to maintain operations and security. We work with men and women who are re-entering the community from incarceration. The Transition House assists these individuals by providing support and resources to be an engaged members of our community.

      Our ideal candidate will be compassionate, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be energetic, creative, open to theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent themselves as positive role models.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Read, comprehend, interpret, and enforce, policies, operating procedures, emergency plans, documents, and other written or verbal directives, governing daily activities.
      • Work 8-hour rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, weekends. Demonstrate the ability to sit, walk, or stand for prolonged periods of time. Maintain physical and mental alertness. Be able to handle stress that may occur under normal or unusual circumstances in this position.
      • Formulate and prepare accurate, concise reports, forms, and logs, using proper format, grammar, and spelling.
      • Maintain a professional demeanor and practice emotional self-control while responding to incidents and interacting with clients, staff, and visitors. Identify, report, and assist as trained, any person who appears to need medical care.
      • Supervise and effectively communicate with clients during meal times, work periods, classroom attendance, visitation, sleeping hours, recreation time, and any other time as required by policy and supervisors. Instruct clients in proper sanitation procedures.
      • Ensure the overall safety, security, and welfare of staff, clients, visitors, volunteers, and the surrounding community. Conduct daily inspection of the housing areas.
      • Control contraband by frequent patrols and by performing visual and manual searches of persons and living quarters. Conduct accurate counts, according to policy and procedures, and as instructed during any emergency.
      • Record and report maintenance problems through daily and weekly inspections. Collect, count, prepare receipts, and make copies of, all client monies, as necessary.
      • Conduct intake on all new clients as required, including assembling a security file, and documentation and entry the required system.
      • Attend all staff meetings and trainings, as required by supervisors and policy.
      • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly log books, signing clients out of, and into, the facility, and making other required entries as appropriate.
      • Ensure all applicable policies and procedures that govern this position are followed. All other related duties assigned by a supervisor.
      • Maintain personal safety and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
      • Recognize and maintain safety concerns with regards to clients. Report any infractions immediately and correct the behaviors to maintain a safe working environme

      Qualifications

      Washington state Drivers license
      High School Diploma or Equivalent
      Ability to participate in our Drug Free workplace program
      Ability to pass a background check

      Shift Type: day shift, swing shift, overnight shift
