- Develop and facilitate learning plans for youth who are interested in and identified as emotionally and behaviorally ready to learn skills associated with home economics.
- Coach youth home management skills such as budgeting, cooking and cleaning.
- Assist with everyday household tasks, such as light laundry, dishes, tidying up the house and organizing the milieu and common areas, prepping and preparing meals, creating shopping lists, and purchasing/ordering groceries.
- Support the milieu environment to provide continuity of routines for predictability and safety.

NFI Massachusetts, Inc., a non-profit human service organization, is currently seeking a Cook / Professional Homemaker for its residential youth program in Haverhill, MA.
NFI’s Northeast Diversion program located in Haverhill, MA provides safe, therapeutic, short-term residential placement for male and female youth ages 12-18. The program serves youth and families struggling with issues that include emotional disturbance, trauma, family conflict and behavioral issues such as truancy, running and substance abuse.
The Cook / Professional Homemaker is responsible for coaching youth identified as emotionally and behaviorally safe to be in high risk areas, such as the kitchen, to learn and practice home management skills such as food budgeting, cooking, and cleaning. This role is responsible for assisting with everyday household tasks, such as light laundry, dishes, tidying up the house and organizing the milieu and common areas, prepping and preparing meals, creating shopping lists, and purchasing/ordering groceries. The ideal candidate will be able implement a learning plan to assist youth in developing home management skills to learn how to be independent.
Hourly Rate: $22/hour
