      What you will do:

      The Residential HVAC Controls P roduct M anager is responsible for developing the product line strategy for JCI’s Residential Controls Product Line. Controls and Connected team to lead the residential suite of products. This includes implementing new product development by identifying customer value propositions that enhance sales and profitable growth. The product manager will lead all aspects of the voice of customer process, understanding and evaluating customer needs, while developing functional requirements, marketing plans and growth programs that support the roadmap.

      The product manager works closely with the Ducted Systems Engineering team to drive customer solutions and innovation. They will have an excellent understanding of key customer needs (Distributors, Contractors, Homeowners) and a detailed understanding of the dynamics of selling SAAS solutions.

      How you will do it:

      • Controls Solution passionate about improving installation and serviceability for our installer/contractor while providing value to the homeowner.

      • Develops strategy and product roadmap based on customer feedback, market analysis, driven research, and strategic priorities.

      • Conducts VOC interviews to test hypotheses around customer problems and solutions to meet customer needs.

      • Work with Industrial Design, Product Design, and other team members to develop the physical design of each device, ensuring that it fits into the user's home and successfully represents the Google brand.

      • Partners with sales, marketing, engineering, and peer product managers to collect and prioritize product requirements.

      • Communicates product vision, product-market fit metrics, risks, and key decisions to senior leadership

      • Develops product positioning statements to communicate our unique value proposition.

      • Leads content development for product marketing collateral and technical literature.

      • Trains sales teams, implementation teams, and customer end users to enable adoption.

      • Participates in prioritization , solution design, and customer presentations for strategic sales opportunities.

      • Develops and handles product budget to meet P&L targets.

      • Own overall category success and define the portfolio strategy including long-term product goals, user experience, technology roadmap, go-to-market strategy, driven positioning, and more.

      • Lead all aspects of and drive Controls business unit transformation portfolio and as applicable, specific initiatives for a cloud solution that will give contractor visibility on diagnostic/prognostic issues and peace of mind to the homeowner that their system is fully operation.

      • Demonstrate your transformation expertise to identify , scope, and coordinate efforts that will help grow and optimize the Controls business.

      What we look for:

      Required

      • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics fields.

      • 3+ years of experience as hands-on business analyst, product owner, or product manager of consumer facing software-based solutions.

      • 3+ years of experience in HVAC or similar controls or IoT based platform with digital customer interface.

      • Experience with SaaS go to market development and execution.

      • Experience in Mobile App development and deployment.

      • Leadership & Accountability abilities with a focus on delivering measurable business results and customer value while optimizing return on investment.

      • Makes decisions and prioritizes efficiently using data and facts.

      • Demonstrates excellent collaboration skills.

      • Strong communicator of business and technical information at all levels of the organization.

      • Shown success working with cross functional teams to plan, develop, refine, and launch successful software products.

      • Able to assess product and feature opportunities and user experience improvements.

      • Self-starter and ability to work with little instructions and collaborate with teams with varied strengths.
