      Empowering People's Independence (EPI), provides support for people with developmental disabilities, epilepsy, and brain injury through progressive, tailored care to improve their health, wellbeing, independence, and social inclusion

      Job Purpose:

      The primary function of this position is to provide continuous direction of the day-to-day operation in the Home program.

      Essential Functions:

      • Maintain the health and well-being of the individuals EPI serves.
      • Ensure adequate staffing to meet the individuals’ needs.
      • Follow up on all employee documentation ensuring it is accurate and up to date.
      • Report all policy violations to appropriate personnel.
      • Participate in all individuals’ referrals, admissions, placement, and discharge.
      • Review and sign off on all billing documentation to ensure Agency compliance.
      • Provide on-going supervision and program training for all assigned staff; ensure Agency-wide training is compliant.
      • Serve as on-call on a rotating basis.
      • Promote workplace safety.
      • Performs other duties as assigned by Program Manager and/or designee within scope of practice.

      Non-Essential Functions:

      • Other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
      • Complete and distribute monthly activity calendar.
      • Ensure all vehicle paperwork is completed; checks daily and follows up with staff as necessary.
      • Participate on various committees as able.

      Compliance:

      • Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.
      • Must be willing to complete specific company required trainings as mandated by our governing agency, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), at time of hire and annually thereafter.
      • Must adhere to all departmental /company policies & procedures at all times & ensure compliance with direct report.

      Education and Experience:

      • A high school diploma or equivalent and preferably five years’ experience in the human service field; or
      • An associate’s degree in a related field and three years’ experience in the human service field; or
      • A bachelor’s degree in a related field and one-year experience in the human service field.

      Computer Skills:

      • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
      • Ability to navigate electronic documentation program (i.e. Medisked, Evero)
      • Ability to complete online training requirements

      Qualifications:

      • Mature interpersonal/professional skills to effectively collaborate, resolve issues and maintain confidentiality.
      • Good verbal and written communication skills
      • Strong numerical comprehension
      • Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, and diplomacy, during difficult and/or stressful situations
      • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines
      • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and electronic medical record systems (e.g., Medisked)
      • Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License-a vehicle is required for business travel
      • Obtain all required training within 90 days of being hired and updates as required

      • Must be able to lift and carry up to (50) lbs.

      While performing the duties of this position, exposure to changing weather conditions will occur.
