      JOB DESCRIPTION

      Position Title: Resort Store Manager

      Location: Town of Jackson

      Reports To: General Manager

      Department: Retail

      Classification: Year Round Full-Time

      FLSA: Non-exempt

      GENERAL PURPOSE:

      Oversee all retail operations at the Resort Store to achieve guest service, branding, and budgetary goals aligned with Jackson Hole Mountain Resort expectations.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

      • Provides exceptional guest service.
      • Hires, trains, develops, and motivates a sales staff.
      • Manages scheduling, sales goals, and sales staff payroll and commissions.
      • Ensures conscientious inventory control, through POS transactions and inventory management.
      • Executes efficient daily operations of the Resort store.
      • Executes markdowns, promotional strategies, and transfers.
      • Works with the Retail Merchandise Manager to merchandise new product, set, and maintain store appearance guidelines.
      • Executes physical inventory process to ensure all procedures and policies are in place regarding inventory management. Hit seasonal targeted inventory shortage goals.
      • Develops and executes staff training and procedures specific to the store.
      • Provides in-town Teton Village connection serving as a ticket & activities sales outlet and information source for winter and summer Resort products.
      • Provide seasonal restock reports for each of the above sales locations and update with on hand and in -transit product information.
      • Manage suggested stock allocations for the Resort Store.
      • Develop and implement inventory awareness programs for all store staff.
      • Coordinate all store maintenance and repair needs.
      • Establish and maintain proper safety practices for guests and staff.

      OTHER FUNCTIONS

      • Work with groups and internal departments to organize events and specialty product fulfillment.
      • Work with Retail Merchandise Manager in the direction of all retail branding and product assortment.
      • Provides information for customers on Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

      JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

      • Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
      • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Suite proficiency
      • Basic knowledge of the bike/ski/snowboard industry and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
      • Exceptional people management and leadership skills
      • RTP experience preferred

      WORK ENVIRONMENT

      This job operates primarily in a retail shop setting. Most work is completed in an indoor environment. Occasional work in an outdoor environment may occur, which may cause exposure to extreme temperatures and varying weather.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS

      • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
      • Ability to stand for long periods of time performing repetitive motions with hands to grasp, reach, push, and pull with extensive use of fingers to complete detailed repair work.
      • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching is required to move inventory around the shop.
      • Hearing, speaking, and reading ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication at normal speaking level.

      POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

      This job is a year round full time role. It typically works during shop business hours, which can be from early in the morning to later in the evening. Shops are open 7 days per week and the schedule may require work on any day of the week. Schedules and hours may fluctuate depending on business needs.

      REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

      • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.
      • Minimum 2-year college degree or equivalent job-specific training.
      • Minimum 4 years previous experience in retail operations.

      PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

      • Previous management experience preferred.
      • Previous experience in resort operations preferred.
