      Pay Range: $ 37.56/hr - $50.70/hr
      *Please note, the highest starting rate as a new hire is $44.13/hr, based on applicable experience

      POSITION SUMMARY:
      The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for assessing the patient's functional limitations, the home environment, and appropriate equipment needs. The RCP establishes goals for the patient, and implements a plan of care to meet those goals in collaboration with the patient and family under physician orders. The RCP is responsible for the on-going coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of actions taken on the patient's behalf in relation to their respiratory/oxygen equipment.

      EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
      Desired:
      - One year previous home care experience, including the education of patients and co-workers in proper use and care of respiratory equipment in the home setting.

      LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
      Minimum:
      - Current licensure by the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
      - Recognized as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care within two years of employment
      - Current CPR Certification
      - Current California Driver's License
      - Eligible to be insured under the Medical Center's Liability Policy with DMV Report (and minimum age 21)
      - Proof of current auto insurance coverage (no business exclusion).

      SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
      Must demonstrate technical competence and knowledge/ability to operate respiratory equipment. Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with patients, staff, and public. Must show sensitivity for the patient and family in the home. Must have a good driving history and be able to safely operate a vehicle. Must be able to follow instructions, show flexibility, have attention to detail, and be able to work independently in the home environment.
