Overview
This position represents patient care directed toward Step Down areas and general care areas and will work under direct supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist.
Qualifications
Education
HS/GED required. Applicants must be enrolled in a CoARC or CAAHEP accredited respiratory therapy program, and must obtain a student license issued by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy within 30 days of employment. Certification of BLS is preferred for hiral processes and mandatory upon completion of orientation period.
Experience
Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program is preferred. Applicants will be able to function in general care areas NOT including critical care areas and/or ventilator management.
Additional Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must have the ability to perform and recommend procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, and basic respiratory diagnostic procedures.
