- Req#: JR2024-00011653
- Oversee various contractors that work at Nebraska's rest areas.
- Confer with engineers, architects, consultants, suppliers, and various contractors to discuss and resolve issues at the rest areas such as work procedures, contract management, complaints, and construction issues.
- Responsible for the contract management and administration of Nebraska's rest areas.
- Three years or more experience in contract management.
- Experience and working knowledge of facility maintenance practices.
- Must have a valid driver’s license or ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
- This position requires frequent travel within the State.
- Knowledge of effective contract management/administration.
- Knowledge and skills with construction practices, terminology techniques, project management, estimating, procurement, etc.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.

Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) currently has 19 rest areas along the I-80 corridor and is seeking a driven yet organized individual to manage these rest areas. You would manage janitorial contractors, landscaping contractors, and various other contractors in the upkeep of the rest
areas as well as play an integral role in the reconstruction of Nebraska rest areas.

Pay range is $27.931 - $41.173 per hour. The pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints if approved.
JOB DUTIES:
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or construction plus eight years work experience in construction or construction inspection. Extensive work experience in construction business may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
