      What you will be doing
      • Employees must always be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
      • Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables promptly.
      • Be attentive to guests needs and assist in providing a pleasant dining experience.
      • Properly take reservations for the outlet.
      • Be familiar with the organization of the restaurant(s), lounges, and understand the function of each position.
      • Have thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in applicable outlets.
      • Service guests with all food and beverage requirements in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner.
      • Pre-bus all tables, removing soiled dishes after each course.
      • Be familiar with the operation of the cloud-based reservation and P.O.S system.
      • Perform cashiering functions by closing checks and preparing end-of-shift paperwork.
      • Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation and established checklists.
      • Ensure tables and side stands are stocked, tidy, and clean.
      • Keep all beverages at least full (coffee, tea, soda, water, and lemonade).
      • Break down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dishroom according to standards.
      • Answer the telephone and make guest reservations as per standards.
      • Consistently upsell food, beverages, and promotional items to guests.
      • Be familiar with fire extinguishers, their locations, and proper usage.
      • Receive and deliver food and beverage orders and collect payments.
      • Know and understand the state liquor laws.
      • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
      The ideal candidate for this position
      • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
      • Flexible with long hours sometimes required.
      • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and 20 pounds frequently, to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.
      • Ability to stand throughout the entire shift.
      • Must maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food and beverages.
      • Effective verbal and written communication skills in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
      • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
      • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
      • Maintain regular attendance as per Highgate Hotel Standards, with scheduling varying to hotel needs.
      • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag.
      • Comply with hotel standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
      • Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in solutions.
      • Handle problems effectively, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary.
      • Perform other duties as requested by management.
      • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
