Job Description
- Req#: 430
- Conducts routine financial transactions for members within established guidelines (cash checks, accept deposits and loan payments, process withdrawals, etc.)
- Assesses member needs and introduces new products and services.
- Makes sales referrals, suggests alternate channels and cross-sells products and services.
- Builds trusted relationships, member loyalty and satisfaction, and ensures one-touch member resolution.
- Complies with regulatory requirements.
- Manages risk in every transaction and detect fraudulent transactions to prevent losses.
- Resolves routine member issues and provides relevant information.
- Education and Experience
- All candidates for Metro Credit Union's Internship program must be entering their senior year of high school through their senior year of college. Applicants outside of these criteria will undergo a case-by-case review and require approval from the Chief People Officer.
- College level applicants must currently be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, marketing, human resources, economics, or a similar profession.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools

We are offering this opportunity out of several of our branches like Burlington, Peabody, Boston, Melrose, Lawrence, Chelsea, and Lynn.
This program will allow you to acquire significant hands-on experience in the Retail Branch parts of financial services. Under the supervision of experienced professionals, you will assist with day-to-day operations such as routine financial transactions, loan payments, compliance responsibilities, sales referrals, handle member interactions and needs, and other retail duties. This internship provides a unique chance to gain a thorough understanding of credit union operations while also contributing to our purpose of serving members and promoting financial well-being in our communities.
For this internship, we do not offer remote work arrangements and require training on-site in our Chelsea Main location.
