      Overview of the Position:

      Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacist-in-Charge, or Designee, incumbent is responsible for assisting pharmacy team members in the daily workflow of retail pharmacy including, but not limited to, processing and filling prescriptions for pharmacist verification. The incumbent must work with patients, pharmacy staff, and clinic staff to ensure the patient receives the highest quality pharmacy service while adhering to HopeHealth’s procedures and all state and federal rules and regulations.

      Education and Experience:

      High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

      Must maintain Pharmacy Technician Registration or State Certification (preferred), in good standing, with the SC Board of Pharmacy

      PTCB Certification preferred

      2+ years of pharmacy work experience required

      Prior customer service required

      Experience with PioneerRx Software preferred

      Required Skills / Abilities:

      Excellent verbal and written communication skills

      Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and general computer skills

      Must have a professional demeanor, appearance and be highly organized with strong attention to detail

      Must be a team player and work well with others

      Must possess excellent customer service skills

      Self-starter and highly motivated to achieve goals with minimal oversight

      Possess the ability to perform effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

      Service-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers, physicians, and other healthcare providers from a variety of backgrounds and lifestyles while maintaining a non-judgmental attitude

      Ambitious and confident change-agent; challenging conventional thinking, approach and methodology, strong advocacy, and organizational navigation skills

      Experience with problem-solving

      Essential Job Functions:

      Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Mission, Vision, and Core Values

      Follows HIPAA, FWA, Corporate Compliance, and all applicable state and federal laws

      Operates phone system according to pharmacy procedures while ensuring positive customer experience

      Operates point-of-sale cash register system according to pharmacy procedures while ensuring positive customer experience

      Operates drive thru according to pharmacy procedures while ensuring positive customer experience

      Follows pharmacy procedures to accurately fill patient prescriptions for pharmacist verification

      Accurately and appropriately complete data entry for prescription orders for pharmacist verification

      Follows pharmacy procedures to accurately and appropriately utilize all automation and/or robotics/systems once properly trained (ie: PickPoint, ParataMAX2, KirbyLester Counter, RxSafe, plus other/future equipment)

      Follows pharmacy procedures to promote and/or utilize specialty programs when appropriate (ie: 340B, HIV, HHADAP, UHC, Libre Compassionate Cares, DMP, Patient Assistance/Scale, and any other/future programs)

      Identifies any drug in patient’s profile that may have a manufacturer’s copay card and assists in enrolling patient and adding to profile when appropriate

      Contacts prescriber with any refill requests or issues that may present

      Initiates prior authorizations in Cover My Meds and notifies prescriber’s office with the Key

      Documents appropriate delivery and/or prescription notes/outcome codes as directed by pharmacist in patient records and other systems as instructed

      Accurately sets up patients for autofill, delivery, sync, etc, as needed

      Processes all approved refills and communicates with patient when appropriate

      When appropriate, accurately stores patient’s preferred card payment in Pioneer for processing payments

      Evaluates patient profiles and syncs refills so that all prescriptions can be filled for a patient at the same time

      Appropriately consults the pharmacist when needed

      Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, counters, drug shelves, and other areas.

      Travels to other HopeHealth locations as deemed necessary by Director or AVP

      Other duties as assigned

      Collaborate with other clinic or pharmacy team members to work on special projects that may be identified

      Physical Requirements:

      Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Vision: Visual acuity adequately to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds unassisted in normal daily activities and up to 30 lbs. for other required work activities. Additionally, requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (especially if keyboarding and writing), standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
