The Parochial Employees’ Retirement System of Louisiana is seeking applications for an Retirement Specialist. Salary offered will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected.

Necessary Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn the general statutory provisions of the system.
• Ability to gain working knowledge of the PERS pension software system and database structure.
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with members, local officials, and their staffs.

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree preferred. Retirement plan administration experience preferred. Experience with local governmental entities and Boards of Directors or Trustees highly valued.Distinguishing Characteristics of Work:

• Assists in the maintenance of the system’s database of member and retiree records and the processing of requests from active members.

Examples of Work:
Assists in the following areas subject to review by the Administrative Director and/or Benefits Administrator, or Systems Analyst.

• Refund repayment invoices.
• Regular retirement and DROP estimates.
• Posting earnings and contribution reports to the system’s database.
• Collecting and maintaining enrollment forms for new and returning members.
• Production of annual notices of deposit for membership.
• Logistics for member and employer trainings or educational events.
• Administrative tasks assigned by the Director.
