      Division of Retirement:
      The mission of the Division of Retirement is to deliver a high quality, innovative, and cost-effective retirement system to Florida Retirement System (FRS) pension plan members and their employers, so FRS members can plan for their financial future. The FRS is the fourth-largest public state retirement system in the nation, one that is comprised of more than one million active and retired employees.       The Work You Will Do:
      As a Retirement Analyst II, you will analyze and approve the audit, balancing and subsequent calculations of member accounts by professional employees for accuracy. Ensures that proper service credit has been given under each retirement system and plan, verifies members' eligibility to claim retirement credit for additional types of service, the required contributions and interest have been accurately calculated and paid as required and that the proper documentation for all actions taken and determinations made are contained in the file. Also verifies all audits of transfer of moneys between and within member accounts due to reporting and other errors in the account.

      Your Specific Responsibilities:

      Specific key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

      Serve as lead worker for professional employees on problem accounts and overseeing their work. Supports and assists the section administrator in assigning and monitoring the workflow in the section, production reports, etc. Effectively assume responsibilities of the section administrator during the administrator's absence by approving leave and monitoring section personnel activities. May participate in employee selection modules, performance reviews and make recommendations to supervisor about work deficiencies, problem areas, and corrective action.

      Provide customer service that requires expert knowledge of the Florida Retirement System (FRS) and all existing systems, the Florida Statutes, rules, and division policies. Serves as a resource person for other staff. Compose complex correspondence, memoranda, etc. to members and agencies. Develop and write procedures and updates procedures for the approval of the section administrator.

      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
      Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication and basic arithmetic.Ability to review data for accuracy; identify errors and take corrective action; collect, evaluate, analyze and verify data relating to retirement benefits; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to retirement benefits; train others; organize data into logical format; utilize problem solving techniques; work independently; perform basic arithmetical calculations; plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to operate a personal computer with proficiency in Word, or comparable processes. Accountability, Communication, Empowerment, Flexibility, Integrity, Respect, Teamwork.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Six years of professional experience in the area of insurance, retirement or social security, administration, call center, customer service, fiscal work, statistics, or personnel. A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
