What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Strategically facilitate and obtain appropriate physician documentation to support patient care
- Educate and collaborate with the patient care team regarding documentation guidelines
- Ensure quality documentation and regulatory compliance
- Review medical records for documentation completeness and accuracy
- Communicate with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and complete clinical documentation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate degree and 5+ years of experience
- Minimum of 5 years of acute care nursing experience
- 3 years of Clinical Documentation Specialist experience
- Current active state license as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician's Assistant, or unlicensed physician
- CCDS or CDIP certification
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in specific medical/surgical, Intensive Care, post-acute care unit, or Emergency Department settings
