This is a paid, 16-week initiative with intent to transition our returners to permanent placement. As diverse as our business is, as are the opportunities we have available. Our cohort of Returnship participants will join multidisciplinary teams across a variety of divisions.Your Impact:
Jacobs environmental planning staff are part of a global network of employees, which serves both the private and public sector. We provide our clients award-winning planning, engineering, architectural and interior design, construction and program management, and design-build project delivery.
Roles specific deliverables:
· You’ll have the opportunity to use your in-depth knowledge and play a role in all stages of performing alternative analyses and play a role in public involvement for a variety of transportation, water and utility projects for a diverse public and private client base. · You’ll learn from highly skilled and experienced members of our team to solve a range of complex problems as you grow your career. Feature processing of topographic field data
· You’ll use best practices of NEPA and other environmental regulations to prepare well written environmental documentation for our clients.
· You’ll also research and prepare technical reports for NEPA documents, prepare permit applications as well as coordinate regulatory permitting issues with internal and regulatory agency staff.
As a participant, you will:
· Experience 16 weeks of on the job learning and exploration with a diverse community of professionals from a wide range of backgrounds
· Access the vast network of resources at Jacobs through continual leadership development, support, and mentorship from our dedicated Returnship program team
· Be confident that you will receive ongoing mentorship and support as you navigate the transition with us to permanent employment
· Be a part of our Returnship cohort community participating in regular focus group feedback session and social events to facilitate a seamless transition as you return to the workforce
!*!• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Cultural Resources, or a related field
• Proficiency preparing CEQA and NEPA analysis and documentation
• You have had a voluntary career break of at least one year
• Additional specific experience in environmental (or other) planning, natural resources, permitting, or other related fields
• Project management, client development skills, and technical expertise as applied to transportation, renewable energy/utilities, and other critical infrastructure
• Experience in developing, managing scope, schedule, and budget on mid to large projects and leading diverse project teams of internal technical staff and subcontractors
• Ability to foster relationships with large project teams, client, client’s contractors, and regulatory agency staff
• Excellent writing and communication skills
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Master’s Degree in Environmental (or other) Planning or related field
• Experience with GIS
This position can be based in any Southern California office.

The base salary range for this position is $35.05 to $83.80 This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Southern California locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
