What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Resolve outstanding and denied claims based on third party claim processing rules within established timelines
- Collaborate with hospital departments to resolve accounts
- Research, prepare, and submit appeals to insurance companies
- Monitor and escalate denials or trends to supervisor as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Knowledge of basic medical coding/terminology and third-party insurance operating procedures
- Understanding of payer guidelines related to effective claim resolution
- Proficiency with payer websites and other useful resources
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate clearly with customers and insurance companies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management
- Certification in Medical Billing and Coding
