      Position Highlights

      The Quality Auditor is responsible for planning and executing data and quality audits within Moffitt’s Revenue Cycle (RC) for purposes of examining and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the RC system of internal control and monitoring compliance with the RC established policies for both productivity and quality. This position has a high level of autonomy as the Quality Auditor works closely with all levels of RC Leadership (supervisors, managers and directors) on projects and reviews at leadership’s request. Additionally, this position exerts a lot of influence with leadership in providing feedback on current processes, assessing effectiveness of the revenue cycle key controls (which get reported to the Audit Committee), and performing quality audits as needed (i.e. when a supervisor is on leave, requested by leadership, etc.). The Quality Auditor will support the Revenue Cycle areas including: Patient Financial Services, Financial Clearance Unit, Clinic Access, Patient Appointment Center, Health Information Management, Revenue Integrity, Research Billing, Research Budgeting and Contracting, Grant Management, and Collections. As such, this position is not contained in one area of the RC as the work is based on the resource need in the revenue cycle.

      The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

      • Preferred – Previous compliance and/or auditing experience in revenue cycle.
      • Preferred - License/certification within one of the following :(CIA) Certified Internal Auditor, (CPA) Certified Public Accountant or equivalent; CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), COC (Certified Outpatient Coder) or equivalent license.
      • Experience using Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

      Responsibilities:

      • Planning audit work.
      • Executing audit work including data audits as well as root cause
      • Reporting results of audit work including education of any improvements to process required.
      • Documenting and analyzing revenue cycle work-flows.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Credentials and Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or related business field required.
      • A minimum of three (3) years of Revenue Cycle experience (can be experience in any of the teams that fall within revenue cycle).

      ** "In lieu of" a Bachelor's degree, Associate’s degree with an additional two (2) years of healthcare revenue cycle and/or audit related experience plus the three (3) years (for a total of 5 years) experience may be considered.

      - OR -

      **High School diploma with an additional four (4) years of healthcare revenue cycle and/or audit related experience plus the three (3) years (for a total of 7 years).**

      Preferred

      • (CIA) Certified Internal Auditor, (CPA) Certified Public Accountant or equivalent; (CPC) Certified Professional Coder, (CCS) Certified Coding Specialist, (COC) Certified Outpatient Coder or equivalent license.
