  Job Responsibilities

  We are searching for an engineer talented in plasma computational chemistry with a strong background in computational plasmas, physics, chemistry, and machine learning to join our team. As a key team member, you will support applications of methods in computational chemistry, materials science, and machine learning for modeling gas and surface chemical phenomena in plasma processing reactors for next-generation device technology. This is a perfect role for candidates who love to work on real-world applied research in low-temperature plasma on state-of-the-art challenges in semiconductor fabrication. Your work will provide a fundamental understanding and have a direct impact on the plasma chamber and process design for current and future technology nodes.

  Other Job Responsibilities

  • Foundation in computational chemistry, materials science, reaction kinetics for RF plasmas
  • Provide fundamental understanding for gas-phase and surface plasma chemistry in RF plasmas
  • Expertise in computational quantum chemistry methods and platforms (Gaussian, Quantum Espresso, VASP, LAMMPS)
  • Experience in data sciences, machine learning, and numerical optimization methods relevant for plasma processing
  • Proficiency in modeling & simulation, computational sciences, numerical methods, data science
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly learn and master new software tools for plasma modeling and simulation
  • Experience in programming and code development with Fortran/ C/ C++, Python, Matlab, and related SW packages/compilers

  Minimum Qualifications

  MS/PhD Chemistry/ Material Science/Physics/ Engineering – Chemical, Electrical, or related field
  Demonstrated experience or background in

  • Computational sciences, plasma gas and surface chemistry, transport phenomena
  • Plasma science & technology
  • Machine learning, programming, and numerical methods
  • Design of experiments

  Prior industry or academic experience / Postdoc / New College Graduates
  Ability to work in cross-functional teams and interface with experimentalists, design and software engineers

  Preferred Qualifications

  • High energy, independent, self-motivated, quick study with flexible nature

  Salary and Benefits

  CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $96,000.00 - $211,000.00

  The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
