  Job Description

  We are seeking an RF Engineer to design, implement, integrate, and test digital and RF systems with a focus on HF communication devices. You will be part of a small team developing a new communication device and will assist with design reviews and trade studies. Our products aim to enhance communication from the edge of the battlefield to the command center and back, ensuring proper decision-making support.

  Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and review PCBs for an HF RF communications system, including RF and power distribution.
  • Conduct testing and validation of hardware to ensure performance.
  • Analyze schematic diagrams for both custom and commercial-off-the-shelf electronic hardware.
  • Develop and maintain requirements documents, functional specifications, interface control documents, and engineering wiring diagrams.
  • Develop project test plans and test procedures, provide test planning support, and assist in the execution of both lab and field testing.
  • Support customer integration and troubleshooting efforts.

  Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with HF (2-60 MHz) RF design for circuit cards used in receivers and transmitters.
  • Proficiency in using standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Experience in implementing RF cascade analysis for system design, including trading gain, noise figure, and linearity.
  • Strong understanding of RF theory and its application to real-world problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of analog data converters (ADCs/DACs) and their integration with RF front ends.
  • Eligibility for SECRET Clearance.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with HAM radios is highly preferred.

  Work Environment

  This hybrid role requires 2 days a week onsite in Warrenton, VA, with potential for additional onsite days due to hardware lab requirements. The position is based in the Vint Hill technology park, near amenities such as a brewery, winery, and CrossFit. You will be part of a 2-3 person electrical engineering team. The company offers a fun culture with a hybrid work model, and projects that feel akin to commercial work, with open office spaces and use of modern technologies. Compensation is based on actual hours worked, not a standard 40-hour workweek.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $95.00/hr.
