      Job Description Summary

      RFP (request for proposal) writing is a challenging yet rewarding role, in which you combine your creative and analytical skills to convey a compelling story for our investment products. Working together with colleagues across the firm, you will collect RFP information, gain industry knowledge and build important skills that will serve you in this role and beyond.

      Job Description

      Our RFP writers are an essential element of the sales process and trusted advisors for our sales and relationship management teams. In this role, you will coordinate and prepare requests for proposal and due diligence questionnaires (RFPs and DDQs), that cover a (prospective) client’s questions about Aegon AM and our investment products.

      You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team, joining our three other RFP writers in the Netherlands. We are part of a larger global team, positioned within the global client group – the firm’s commercial domain.

      Aegon Asset Management (Aegon AM) is a leading global investor. Our 375 investment professionals manage and advise on assets of US $306 billion for a global client base of pension plans, public funds, insurance companies, banks, wealth managers, family offices and foundations.

      We organize our firm around four investment platforms: fixed income, real assets, equities and multi-asset & solutions, which includes a fiduciary and multi-manager business. Each investment platform has dedicated teams with deep asset-class expertise, organized globally and committed to maximizing client benefit from their specialist areas.

      We are an international business: Our 1,200 employees work from 13 locations across Europe, the Americas and Asia. We share a common belief in fundamental, research-driven active management, underpinned by effective risk management and a commitment to responsible investment.

      Why the role is important

      As an RFP writer, you have a material impact on both our ability to win new business, as well as on client retention. As such, the team directly supports the firm’s revenue-generating activities.

      Responsibilities

      You are responsible for the coordination and completion of tailored, high-quality documents, within the stated deadline and consistent with our brand and messaging.

      Key responsibilities of an RFP writer at Aegon AM include:

      • Responding to existing and prospective client queries in the form of RFIs, RFPs and DDQs, ensuring they are completed to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.

      • Ensuring information included in the documents is clear, accurate and not misleading.

      • Developing and maintaining strong relationships throughout the organization – including relevant salespeople and investment teams, as well as other subject matter experts (e.g., finance, operations, legal, risk management).

      • Working closely with these experts for technical and specialist information required in the questionnaires.

      • Developing, maintaining and improving firm and product language for use in questionnaires.

      • Keeping our content management system (Qvidian) updated with accurate and up-to-date responses.

      Who we are looking for

      We are looking to complete our team and need someone who is analytical, creative and solution oriented. You have affinity with and/or an interest in financial services and investment products, and you are able to present information in a concise and commercially convincing manner.

      Ideally, you have:

      • Energy, enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn.

      • Skill in building and maintaining relationships across the organization.

      • Strong writing skills and a talent for translating complex concepts into plain English.

      • Effective time-management, ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.

      • Commitment to quality and attention to detail.

      • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

      • A bachelor or academic degree in business, economics, marketing/communication, or related field.

      Furthermore:

      • Fluency in English is required. Dutch would be an advantage, but is not essential.

      • Experience in a sales support and/or RFP role would be an advantage.

      What will you be getting?

      • You will be earning a competitive salary based on 40 hours and your education, knowledge and experience;

      • You will also receive a thirteenth month and a holiday allowance in the form of a monthly flex budget, amounting to 16.7% of your monthly salary;

      • Plenty of scope and budget for your personal development;

      • A minimum of 27 holiday days;

      • Reimbursement of your travel expenses;

      • A good pension scheme.
