- Schedule and co-ordinate Safety team meetings, take minutes and share with team
- Conduct monthly Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) checks at Victoria Country Club (VCC)
- Log SHEQ deviations on the Isometrix, reporting unsafe conditions to management for action.
- Manage dashboard, contractor man hours and deviations on Isometrix
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis for Employee or Contractor injuries and assist in compiling reports.
- Assist with forestry wide risk and document review according to integrated management systems requirement.
- Facilitate a forestry-wide risk assessment and continuously update risk assessments
- Consolidate Safety Managers audit reports highlighting non-conformance and non-compliance for Management review
- Ensure all legislative required appointments are made, and assigned persons are aware of their roles and responsibilities
- Co-ordinate Safety awareness events and prepare Safety communications for publication in various mediums
- Train staff on Stop Think Before You Act (STBA) & contractors on STBA & Visible Felt leadership (VFL)
- Submit weekly and monhly reports on forestry deviation, card and IOD reports
- Provide administrative support to the Forests Risk department
- Carry out general induction, orientation, SHEQ awareness programs and site-specific inductions
- Generate SAP payment requistions and ensure that purchase requisitions, order numbers and tax invoices are processed using SAP to ensure that vendor's are paid in line with company policy and internal procedures
- Filing of records and documents, current and historical, as per Occupational Health and Safety legislation on the Sappi database
- Consolidate risk monthly report for Area Manager by merging team reports for submission to the Management team
- Arrange meetings and functions for Risk team and take minutes when required
- Order, track and control PPE for visitors and office personnel based at Victoria Country Club (VCC) and visitors
- Extract deviation management records, review and identify trend analysis and share with Management for risk analysis and intervention
- Support and ensure that the Deviation Management System is used to record SHEQ incidents and provide statistics for SHEQ monthly reporting
- Create SHEQ alerts to raise awareness and translate documents to Sesotho and IsiZulu (WSWP/Toolbox talks/Checklists or any required material)
- Ensure SHEQ alerts and SHEQ talk to IT to be published on CSS and RMS
- Check contractor stats submitted monthly by contractors and ensure accurate logging of manhours on Ismetrix
- Submit stats and IOD reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Ensure STBA training is conducted for Contractor and Own Ops employees
- Conduct refresher training for SHE reps and Supervisors (Train The Trainer) and issue certificates
- STBA training is conducted infield per area/Sappi offices and records are kept
- Report on Emergency Response & Simulations stats (KZN Alert Forum)
