      We’re looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Risk Analyst to join our growing risk management team. This role is pivotal in assessing and managing the credit risk associated with our loan portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong quantitative background, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience analyzing data to identify potential risks and inform lending decisions. You will play a key role in ensuring the health and profitability of our loan portfolio through rigorous analysis and insightful reporting. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup atmosphere and who is looking to help build the credit risk foundations from the ground up. This position will report to the Senior Group Manager, Risk & Analytics.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the company’s Risk Management Framework tailored to powersports financing.
      • Assist in formulating credit risk strategies to support business growth while managing portfolio performance and asset quality.
      • Recommend risk process improvements to drive operational efficiency and enhance credit risk controls across the organization.
      • Analyze credit risk associated with retail installment loan originations, including trends by product type, dealer, region, and credit tier.
      • Monitor key portfolio risk metrics (e.g., early payment defaults, delinquency, recovery rates) specific to the powersports industry.
      • Evaluate credit policy effectiveness and propose changes to improve automated decisioning and portfolio quality.
      • Perform segmentation analysis to identify concentrations, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for risk-adjusted growth.
      • Collaborate with data scientists and modelers to build, validate, and monitor credit and risk models (e.g., scorecards, loss forecasting).
      • Extract and analyze large datasets using SQL, Python, R, or SAS to uncover patterns in borrower behavior, dealer performance, and economic trends.
      • Generate actionable insights to support underwriting, pricing, and portfolio management decisions.
      • Create dashboards and visualizations that effectively communicate model performance, risk exposures, and trend analysis to internal stakeholders.
      • Prepare comprehensive risk assessment reports and present key findings to management, credit committees, and stakeholders.
      • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements relevant to indirect auto and powersports lending.
      • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to monitor changes in consumer finance laws (e.g., ECOA, FCRA) and integrate them into risk practices.
      • Partner with Underwriting, Dealer Services, Collections, and Finance teams to deliver risk insights that enhance credit decisions and portfolio strategies.
      • Contribute to the development and refinement of risk-related policies, procedures, and LOS configurations specific to powersports installment loans.
      • Stay informed on industry trends, economic shifts, and competitive benchmarks that influence borrower behavior and asset performance.
      • Utilize Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and Loan Management Systems (LMS) to monitor loan funding, servicing activity, and performance throughout the lifecycle. Support collection strategies by analyzing delinquency trends, tracking collection and recovery efforts. Assist in exception handling and escalate high-risk accounts as needed to mitigate losses.
      • Support departmental initiatives such as process automation, risk tool development, and operational audits.
      • Take part in special projects, including strategic risk reviews, dealer credit evaluations, and performance deep-dives.
      • Other duties as assigned
      • Ability to work on-site at our Foothill Ranch, CA office, with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
      • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in risk analysis, financial analysis, or related roles.
      • Proven experience developing credit policies and risk management controls.
      • Proficiency with statistical software and risk management tools such as Python, R, SAS.
      • Skilled in data analysis and financial modeling, including experience with SQL and cloud-based loan origination and decision platforms.
      • Experience building dashboards using business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Cognos.
      • Familiarity with loan origination and loan management systems.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and high attention to detail.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
      • Ability to thrive in ambiguous and complex environments and work onsite at Foothill Ranch, CA.
      • Understanding of financial services and retail loan origination processes across multiple states is preferred.

      Profile Differentiators:

      • Master’s degree or other advanced professional certifications.
      • Prior experience in a fast-paced startup, FinTech environment, or founding/co-founding roles.
      • Experience managing teams of data scientists and risk analysts.
      • Expertise working with unstructured data and developing optimized data objects for analysis.
      • Background in Powersports finance (motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, PWCs) is a plus.

      Salary:

      • Salary range: $85,000 - $105,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
