- Prepare for and participate in on-site and off-site due diligence on behalf of BBH Private Banking for investment managers and relevant affiliated entities as deemed necessary
- Perform detailed reviews of manager documentation including due diligence questionnaires, offering and deal documents, financial statements, regulatory filings and policies and procedures
- Draft and prepare due diligence reports documenting the due diligence performed on each investment manager, detailed findings and conclusions
- Become a subject matter expert on due diligence and become proficient in the areas of focus
- Coordinate with other parts of the BBH organization to bring functional expertise to the operational due diligence process as required (e.g., Investment Research Group, Cyber and Technology, Business Continuity, Controllers, Credit, Office of the General Counsel, Compliance, and Internal Audit)
- Participate in the fund governance of Private Banking including assisting with the organization and administration of Private Banking Funds Risk Oversight Committee meetings and agendas
- Support PB risk management objectives and goals
- Support the Investment Research Group and Investment Product Group in the development and implementation of the Private Banking investment platform
- Support the Risk Management group in other ad hoc initiatives and projects, particularly when the work is a good fit based upon acquired skill sets
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
- Masters degree, CPA, CFA, or CAIA license a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Previous experience performing operational due diligence of investment managers a plus, or experience in audit, accounting, and/or investment management compliance
- Understanding of risk management policies and methodologies
- Ability to analyze business processes to identify risks, assess risk levels and identify mitigating controls
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment
- Knowledge of fund structures, investment strategies, trading processes, fund compliance, and systems
- Strong relationship management skills
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management both internally and externally
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Must be able to travel, up to 15% of the time

Join us as a Risk Analyst
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting for a Risk Analyst to join our Risk Team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the operational due diligence review process and ongoing monitoring all investment managers reviewed and approved for the Private Banking investment platform. The population of managers includes internal and external products structured as various fund types, including (but not limited to) registered funds, private funds and separately managed accounts.
The analyst will participate in due diligence reviews focusing on a broad array of non-investment topics including portfolio implementation and monitoring, trading operations, fund accounting and administration, human capital management, regulatory compliance, legal entity risks, tax risks, information technology, cyber risk and general business practices. The final due diligence reports will be presented to an internal risk oversight committee. Additional presentations are made to various oversight committees of BBH and fund boards as needed.
Additional responsibilities include assisting in the creation and presentation of meeting materials to oversight committees, oversight of investment manager negative news monitoring program, oversight of the monthly portfolio compliance process, and participation in various risk and business initiatives. As needed, the Risk Analyst will also work on other risk management initiatives outside of the operational due diligence program, providing a broader risk management experience.

This role is based in our New York City location and will be a hybrid role, with three days in office.
What We Offer:
Salary Range
$80,000 - $110,000 base salary.
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
