- Manage and develop a team of professionals with low to moderate complexity and risk within Risk Analytics, and engage management, and experienced leadership in Analytics and Reporting
- Identify and recommend opportunities for transformation of data into actionable information that drives business outcomes, strategies, and risk control development
- Manage modeling, forecasting, reporting, and data distribution tools and processes requiring significant technical complexity within analytics
- Make decisions and resolve issues regarding data aggregation, strategies, resources, and operations of risk analytics to meet business objectives
- Interpret and develop risk policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity within Analytics and Reporting
- Recommend strategies and actions to be considered by management relative to high risk
- Collaborate with and consult with team, peers, and multiple level managers; interact directly with external customers
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Risk Analytics
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
- 4+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Experience managing a team producing consumer credit regulatory and risk reports.
- Knowledge of regulatory capital requirements under the Basel rules.
- Knowledge and experience with Home Lending credit risk data (both closed end mortgage and home equity lines of credit) and consumer credit secured with liquid collateral/unsecured, including familiarity of the underlying SORs, SOOs, and GL.
- Experience leading teams and providing training, coaching & feedback to employees and reviewing work plus leading another manager and their direct reports.
- General understanding of quantitative models and ability to review model output to ensure results are reasonable and perform research when needed to identify the model inputs responsible for changes in modeled results. Ability to manage development, documentation and oversight of qualitative models and work with model validation and management monitoring tasks for the qualitative models and possibility address model risk findings.
- 4+ years of SAS or SQL researching, gathering, manipulating, analyzing and commercial credit portfolio data from large complex datasets
- Experience with governance and oversight requirements for regulatory and risk reporting
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Data validation experience
- Result-orientated to deliver, self-motivated to learn and to influence. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
- Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems
- Experience with data governance frameworks, including documentation of procedures, process controls, and data/information sources and flow
- Meet quarterly and monthly deadlines and ensure the outputs prepared are complete & accurate – inclusive of reviewing control execution and output data.
- Review processes to identify risks and build controls to mitigate the risk.
- Write effectively to support compliance with regulation and describe processes and controls to governance.
- Lead a team of consultants plus another manager to create data files that are inputs to Regulatory Reports for minimum required capital under the Basel rules each month for three lines of business.
- Hire and train new employees.
- Mentor team members.
- Review work and control execution outputs to ensure data is complete, accurate, controlled and documented to meet standards.
- Work to promptly address identified issues and enhance controls and documentation.
- Work effectively with oversight partners including Regulatory Credit Capital Oversight and Regulatory Basel Reporting.
- Continually evaluate the process, controls, and outputs to look for opportunities to enhance controls and streamline the work.
- Provide information and data to governance partners.
- Work effectively with oversight partners including internal and external groups.
- Drive risk management effectiveness by resolving issues and strengthening controls.
- Partner with technology to streamline and automate the reporting process.
- Ability to work at one of the approved locations in the job posting once Wells Fargo returns to the Standard Operating Model.
