- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across all investment and operational processes, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities, and develop risk models and frameworks to mitigate them
- Develop risk models and frameworks and stay abreast of risk management framework best practices
- Proactively monitor and analyze risk indicators to ensure prompt identification and escalation of potential issues
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across all investment and operational processes, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities
- Analyze and interpret complex regulations and industry standards impacting asset management
- Develop and maintain robust compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement compliance controls and best practices, conduct regular reviews and testing
- Support the organization’s internal and external audits and examinations
- Prepare clear, concise, and insightful reports on risk management activities and compliance adherence for senior management and Board Committees
- Effectively communicate complex risk and compliance information to all levels of the organization
- Leverage advanced Excel and/or PowerBI skills to analyze data, generate insightful reports, automate processes, and implement process automation with the use of digital solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Finance or Economics
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience (risk, compliance, investment management, investment operations, treasury, or consulting) and familiarity with financial markets
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, intellectually curious
- Strong written and verbal skills; ability to document and communicate findings effectively
- Advanced Excel and PowerBI skills, and familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python)
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment that often requires multi-tasking
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to identify/implement efficiency and process improvements
- The expected base compensation for this role is: ($93,400 - $149,200). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.

Job Description
This role is categorized as hybrid . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Asset Management office in New York City, NY, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role:
General Motors Asset Management is looking for an ambitious, self-driven candidate to join the Compliance & Risk team as a Risk & Compliance Analyst. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our Risk and Compliance program, from identifying and mitigating potential risks to proactively monitoring adherence to regulations and internal policies. In addition, the candidate will play a key role in leading several special projects that will require leveraging advanced excel skills to optimize and automate processes, improve controls, and implement process automation with the use of digital solutions. The role requires a high-level accuracy, resourcefulness, and initiative, and the ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a keen interest in the financial services industry and possess advanced excel skills and proven ability to work independently as well as within a small team structure.
