      Are you energized by the opportunity to accelerate innovation by enhancing operational support for medicines development? If so, this Risk and Portfolio Management Manager role could be an exciting opportunity to explore.

      As a Portfolio Management Manager, you will be responsible for successful planning, management and reporting of the portfolio of projects in Marietta to deliver business strategy and prioritization. This includes leading a team of project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget. In addition, this position will be responsible for the risk management process, business continuity planning, crisis management and site compliance for corporate policies.

      This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

      • Responsible for strategic leadership of the Portfolio Management Office in alignment with operational goals.
      • Influence key stakeholders and site leadership on project prioritization.
      • Develop and monitor KPIs to evaluate health of PMO portfolio and take actions to understand and resolve poor performance.
      • Responsible for defining the project portfolio capacity in addition to managing and coaching team of Project Managers and Project Control Specialists to ensure successful project planning and execution for all aspects of the project, including: Scoping, resource estimation and capacity planning, cost estimating, schedule development and adherence, risk identification and mitigation, Capex planning/appropriation requests and adherence to capex lifecycle process and change management
      • Benchmark and educate on best practices and behaviors to successfully deliver projects.
      • Develop and implement strategies to align workload and resources to available capacity of workforce to ensure project success.
      • Lead risk management processes and implement integrated strategies, plans and measures, appropriate to the needs of the business, corporate functions and external stakeholders, to ensure long term risk management objectives are met and risk is minimized.
      • Provide industry and process knowledge to challenge correct identification, evaluation, and mitigation of significant risks to operations in order to minimize the risk of business interruption.
      • Maintain awareness and knowledge of: the GSK and Vaccines organization, strategic direction with respect to risk and compliance, GSK Quality Management System, GMP and regulatory requirements, manufacturing technologies and products.
      • Establishing ways of working and good practice to ensure routine consideration of key risks within the strategic decision-making process by the leadership team.
      • Direct and implement the Business Continuity Plan and ensure responsive readiness.
      • Create and develop business continuity capabilities and response plans with senior managers for the significant risks contained in the Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
      • Demonstrated familiarity and compliance with cGMP's, EHS procedures and regulations, facility regulatory guidelines, and standard operating procedures.

      Basic Qualifications:

      We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

      • Bachelor’s degree.
      • Minimum of 2 years' experience in structured risk assessments and mitigation plans
      • 10+ years' experience leading and prioritizing multiple large scale projects
      • Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical or related manufacturing industry
      • 3+ years' experience in supervision or management of others

      Preferred Qualifications:

      If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

      • Demonstrated leadership of, and strong expertise in, Risk Management and PMO.
      • Track record of establishing effective working relationships with all stakeholders (especially senior managers and above country representatives) and anticipating needs when creating project solutions.
      • Ability to maintain attention to detail and overview of strategy.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in order to achieve deliverables and adhere to timelines and budgets.
      • Ability to achieve effective execution of complex projects and programs
      • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
      • Personally agile in a political situation, will not compromise objectivity, independence or project governance.
      • Ability to make oral group presentations and facilitate team discussions to include persuading others, providing information, explaining concepts, and delivering business cases.
      • Creates culture of openness and objectivity, so issues and risks are well managed.
      • Coaches others to do this effectively.
      • Must be a committed team player prepared to work in and embrace a team based culture.
      • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
      • Able to interact in multidisciplinary environment including engineering, facility operations, validation, production and QC\QA.
      • Ability to work in a highly complex matrix and multi-cultural environment.
      • Demonstrate soft skills in effectively delivering programs in a matrix environment
      • Demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines.
      • Sense of urgency, flexibility and accountability.
      • Maintain a high level of integrity while balancing multiple priorities and responsibilities.
