      RN - Tinley Park - Anticoagulation Clinic

      Position Highlights :

      • Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week
      • Hours: Monday-Friday; 7:30-5:30pm
      • Location: Tinley Park
      • Travel: Flexibility to travel to other clinics
      • Work independently and develop strong relationships with your patients

      Responsibilities

      • Demonstrates a high level of autonomy and expert skill in the assessment, dosing and plan of care for those patients taking anticoagulation medications
        • Performs fingerstick INRs for warfarin patients seen in the office
        • For all INR results received, including from external sources, uses established protocols and dosing algorithms, experience, education and critical thinking skills to make dosing changes as necessary to assist in maintaining patient's therapeutic regimen
        • Formulates clinical decisions to manage anticoagulation during acute illnesses and surgeries
        • Reassesses and modifies plans as needed after review of results and history with each result. Confers with managing provider for clinical direction as outlined by protocols
        • Provides initial education to patients and their families upon referral to the ACC and continues to educate patients as needed, allowing them to be active participants in their care
        • Provide support to other clinics by processing INR results and addressing voice mail messages.
      • Manage office responsibilities which include documentation, records, and patient outreach
        • Processes prescription refill requests per protocol
        • Completes outreach to patients who are overdue for testing
        • Complies with established department-specific policies, procedures, and objectives
      • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements

      Qualifications

      • Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program with current and valid Illinois RN license
      • Anticoagulation Therapy Management Certification Course within 6 months of hire by National Certification Board for Anticoagulation Providers
      • Current BLS certification
      • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
      • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
      • Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care setting
      • Experience in cardiac care or home health is beneficial.
      • Ability to anticipate, recognize, and meet the needs of patients and their families
      • Communication: Listens openly and clearly conveys messages and information verbally. Writes clearly using appropriate grammar, symbols, and medical terminology. Able to decipher and comprehend documentation of others.
      • Team work: Works effectively with others to accomplish objectives and goals. Offers assistance to others in need
      • Multi-tasking: Able to shift focus from one task to another and back again without delays
      • Resilience: Effectively manages stress in a fast-paced setting
      • Leadership: Appropriately optimistic and inspiring. Influences others to act on their own behalf or for the broader good of the group
      • Age and Cultural Specific Care: Able to adjust treatment, instruction, and education to meet the patient's age and cultural background

      The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $27.00-38.90, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
