- Responsible for the recruitment, orientation, and training of direct reports.
- Accountable for initial and ongoing clinical competencies for direct reports.
- Mentors, develops and delegates to the Lead RN(s)
- Ensure effective and timely communication of relevant information.
- Provide guidance to ensure performance management aspects such as mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, individual development etc., are in place and holds staff accountable to expectations
- Foster an environment in which the team holds each other accountable to the Fairview commitments
- Works collaboratively with leadership and other organizational partners to ensure efficient, clinically sound, and safe day-to-day operations of the site(s)
- In collaboration with site leadership, anticipates and responds to patient care needs and assure that staff are appropriately scheduled to maximize efficiency, access, and patient demand
- Performs appropriate due diligence to resolve patient and staff concerns
- Collaborate with leadership to help collect data through the use of reporting in order to analyze, forecast, plan, and direct clinic operations.
- Consult with other leaders to support and participate in process improvement, quality initiatives, and innovation, which impact clinical workflows
- Acts as a financial steward; provides input as appropriate related to clinic budget
- Maintain the knowledge and best practice that drives their direct report team to support patients along the continuum of their care, inclusive of between visits.
- Partner with other leaders to facilitate a site-based approach to continuous improvement that links with service line strategy.
- Identifies plans to monitor quality and clinical metrics for designated roles
- Implement needed plans for course correction that have been determined by collecting quality data in the assigned area.
- Support Service Line Clinical Training including RN skills competencies and support development/maintenance of training content.
- Exemplifies excellent customer relations in interactions with patients, visitors, physicians, and employees
- Continuously builds customer understanding by listening to customers.
- Anticipates customer needs, including those with different cultural needs and desires.
- Takes action to meet and exceed the needs of all customer groups.
- Continuously implements strategies to improve customer satisfaction.
- Models appreciation and acceptance of differences.
- Provides a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Continuously takes action to enhance employee engagement.
- Builds credibility with medical staff as a champion for patient care and quality
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- 1-2 years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Minnesota RN license
- Additional education in healthcare, business or related field
- 3-5 years of previous supervisory/management experience

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for managing the performance and clinical best practices of designated staff across multiple sites. Provides workflow direction and management of direct reports consistent with achieving department and organizational objectives. Other duties include implementing service line strategic priorities by offering clinical consultation through partnership with operations leaders and medical staff leaders in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standard work, policies, and procedures.
