- Graduate of accredited nursing program.
- 6 months RN experience required.
- Minimum of one-year pediatric nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Pediatric Hematology/Oncology experience preferred.
- Current permit or license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS Certification.
- PALS within two years of hire/transfer date.
- Other certification may be required by department.
- Valid Driver's License required.

40Summary:
A Registered Nurse skilled to deliver individualized nursing care to patients/families according to their identified needs. The nursing care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the Specialty Clinic.
Seeing and caring for patients in clinic a setting with lifelong or new hematologic diagnoses. Carrying out orders given by physician including injections, med recs, and collaborating with other specialties including lab, infusion, child life, pharmacy, social work, home health, and insurance team. Answering and addressing phone calls/emails/other forms of communication for patients and families. Scheduling follow up appointments, ordering interventions such as scans, labs, procedures. Daily chart preparation to ensure optimal clinic and patient care. Educate families on plan of care and reviewing medication use/purposes.
