- Deliver direct patient care, including initiating and monitoring stress tests, performing IV insertion, managing vital signs, and identifying/treating adverse reactions under provider guidance.
- Prepare, record, and interpret EKGs; communicate abnormalities promptly.
- Notify patients of procedures, diet, and pharmaceutical instructions in advance.
- Assist physicians with special tests and procedures; clarify and implement orders accurately.
- Institute emergency measures as needed within your scope.
- Monitor therapeutic test results, report findings to physicians, and provide appropriate nursing instructions.
- Complete all required patient documentation, reports, and communications in a timely and accurate manner to support efficient patient flow.
- Act as a liaison among patients, families, providers, nursing staff, ancillary and administrative teams to ensure optimal care and respect for patient wishes, religious beliefs, and advanced directives.
- Assess physical, psychological, emotional, rehabilitative, and social needs; advocate for patients and identify teaching needs.
- Provide patient and family education as needed and contribute to community education presentations.
- Lead and mentor ancillary staff; participate in new team member orientation and foster a positive learning environment.
- Maintain certifications (BLS & ACLS) and participate in continuing education, monthly team meetings, committee work, quality and performance improvement, and CIS staff education initiatives.
- Adhere to ethical decision-making, patient advocacy, and evidence-based standards of care and compliance with CIS guidelines, the CIS Compliance Plan, HIPAA, and EMR/HIM best practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support CIS’s mission and patient philosophy.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with current and unencumbered licensure from the LA State Board of Registered Nurses.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Effective communicator with strong social skills and time management abilities.
- Committed to completing assigned EKG, stress testing, and general cardiology courses within 12 months of hire.
- Advanced certification in Cardiology/Cardiovascular nursing and/or two years of critical care experience (desired).
- Proficient in IV management, EKG interpretation, patient monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response.
- Professional, organized, efficient, and dependable with excellent documentation and teamwork skills.
- Committed to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and compliance.
- Willing to support CIS staff education efforts and contribute to community education as a representative of CIS.

About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse under the supervision and guidance of physicians, you will plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care, delivering holistic and professional services within the scope of practice defined by your Resident State Board of Nursing. You will play a key role in performing and monitoring non-pharmacologic, pharmacologic, and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) stress tests alongside the Nuclear Technologist. Your hands-on care will include IV management, EKG monitoring, medication administration, emergency measures, and direct support to physicians during special tests and procedures. You will complete all necessary documentation in the EMR, communicate effectively to coordinate care, and serve as a leader and reliable medical resource in the clinic setting.
