The 5100 Medical-Surgical-Gynecology unit at Akron General Hospital is looking to add a Registered Nurse to their team. This unit prides themselves on providing top-quality and patient-centered care all while ensuring the safety of their patients. A Registered Nurse is responsible for understanding complicated medical histories, advanced surgical procedures, pain modalities and thorough nutritional support. Your primary duties will include:

- Providing direct nursing care.

- Monitoring, recording, and communicating patients’ conditions as appropriate.

- Preparing patient care plans.

- Administering prescribed medications.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.

Certifications:

• Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio.
• BLS required

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
