      The Scripps Health Peri-Operative Education Program (PEP)/OR Transition Program provides the learning environment and essential foundation for a rewarding and successful career in peri-operative nursing. This six-month training program is based on the Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses (AORN) Peri-Op 101 Program. The program utilizes a blended learning approach of didactic on-line modules, assigned reading, videos, lectures, observations, labs, and clinical rotations in surgical services. The concepts of professionalism, evidence-based practice and critical thinking are incorporated throughout the program to prepare the transitioning RN to manage and deliver competent peri-operative patient care.

      Program Expectations

      • Must be available to complete entire program; no exceptions for PTO (paid time off)
      • Class attendance is mandatory
      • You will be working Monday - Friday, 8 hr. shifts during the program, no holidays
      • Shifts offered at the end of the program (Day/Evening/Night; 8hr/12hr) will be based on availability for the department at that time

      Program Dates: October 20, 2025 - April 4, 2026

      Application Period: July 6, 2025 - July 12, 2025

      Interview Period: July 21, 2025 - August 15, 2025

      • Hiring managers will be reviewing completed applications and invite selected candidates to interview during the interview period.

      License & Certification Requirements

      • Current California RN license
      • BLS for Health Care Provider from the American Heart Association

      Experience/Education/Skills Requirements

      • Must have at least one year of recent RN experience
      • Completion of an accredited nursing program
      • Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English
      • Excellent interpersonal skills

      Preferred Qualifications

      • BSN preferred
