      RN- Quality Coordinator-SOM

      University of Alabama at Birmingham

      The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an RN- Quality Coordinator-SOM. This position is responsible for managing clinical data and quality processes and will represent the department and function as a liaison to external entities regarding clinical processes and operational procedures. May complete special projects as well.

      Key Duties & Responsibilities

      • To manage clinical content mapping, data verification, data analysis, data management and data abstraction in assigned area of the School of Medicine.
      • To collect and report regulatory data.
      • To train and coach departmental staff on quality processes and initiatives.
      • To generate various reports associated with quality improvement processes in the department regarding quality outcomes, accomplishments and goals.
      • To prepare reports and present to department administrators, various committees and outside organizations.

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics

      • Previous clinical skills with a nursing degree.
      • Previous quality experience is a plus.
      • This position is hybrid eligible

      Salary Range: $67,070 - $108,990

      Education

      • Bachelor's degree in Nursing with Master's in Nursing, Healthcare Management, Business or related field
      • And three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
      • Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
      • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
      • Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
