Assesses the mental health and medical statuses of patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises Develops nursing care plans promoting emotional well-being and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Fosters a safe and nurturing environment that encourages and reinforces constructive interactions amongst patients Assists patients with the development of personal safety plans Conducts age appropriate psycho-educational groups Administers medications, monitors for side effects and efficacy Delegates nursing interventions to LPNs and behavioral health technicians. Communicates and collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary team
