What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review inpatient medical records within 24 to 48 hours of admission to evaluate documentation for accurate diagnosis and risk assessment
- Conduct follow-up reviews every three days to support and assign working DRG upon discharge
- Formulate queries for missing, conflicting, or unclear documentation
- Provide ongoing education to physicians and healthcare providers on clinical documentation improvement
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to resolve documentation queries before patient discharge

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years of RN work experience
- Current certification as a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP)
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania

- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred
- Experience in clinical documentation improvement
- Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with healthcare coding and documentation standards
