What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct work on transportation projects including traffic operations and safety, roadway design, bridge design, transportation planning, and environmental
- Manage the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications for major and minor projects
- Supervise and observe the design and ongoing progress of projects, coordinating with city, state, and county officials and other outside agencies
- Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff
- Communicate and interact with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to the project
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- 6-10 years of experience in the transportation industry, preferably in Tennessee
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification
- DOT project experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated working knowledge of software systems: HCS, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, CORSIM, VISSIM, CUBE, TransCAD, Microstation, Microsoft Office
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 0-2 years of experience as a Roadway Engineer or similar role in the civil engineering industry
