Define the roadmap for the Isaac Visual Mapping & Localization technology that can deliver production-grade world-class solutions to customers and platform partners, define deliveries and work packages, help synchronize the missions and dependencies across the other teams, formulate the Key Performance Indexes, and associated test plans
Drive the technical decisions and designs to build the next-gen Visual Mapping & Localization stack, using pioneering AI / ML approaches.
Mentor and supervise a team of robotics SW engineers
Collaborate & support other Isaac teams, Sim, Platform and SQA to deploy, validate, and extend the capabilities & features on physical robots as well as on at-scale simulations
Supervise and support the team on design and code reviews (C++, Python, Pytorch and NVIDIA TAO toolkit).
BS, MS, or PhD or equivalent experience in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, computer science or similar fields.
At least 15+ years of overall industry experience and 4+ years proven track record on managing a team
Experience in designing and implementing algorithms in embedded computer vision
Hands-on experience with real-time autonomous system project (robotics, autonomous driving etc)
Experience managing projects and teams of similar nature and challenge
Excellent communication, analysis and problem solving skills
Significant deep learning experience, especially with deployment on NVIDIA embedded platforms of the Jetson family.
Publications in major computer vision or robotics conferences in a field relevant to deep learning, VSLAM, mapping, localization, and perception.
Familiarity both with the classical, geometric and deep learning aspects of computer vision.

The team around Project Isaac is building a robotics platform for developing the next generation of intelligent and autonomous robots. Isaac is binding together high-fidelity visual and physical simulation, a high-quality developing platform, hundreds of optimized algorithms to address hard problems in computer vision and artificial intelligence, and a small and powerful computational platform to form the brain of intelligent machines. Our team consists of experts from all over the world and dozens of different fields, and together we want to change the way robots are programmed.

The base salary range is 224,000 USD - 425,500 USD.
