      iRobot is looking to hire a Software Engineer for the SLAM team within the Robot Autonomy group. As a SLAM Software Engineer you will play a vital role in developing the next generation of Robots that will live in millions of homes and yards across the world.       What you will do

      • Develop algorithms for reliable pose estimation in challenging and dynamic environments
      • Design innovative solutions to robot mapping and pose estimation using techniques like robust non-linear optimization, statistical estimation, probabilistic graphical models
      • Work at the interface between SLAM, perception, and the sensors and actuators team to improve the quality and stability of our localization and maps
      • Take solutions “over the wall” through manufacturing and customer deployment
      • Deliver artifacts that set the standard for engineering excellence, from designs to implementations
      • Solve problems pragmatically, applying judgment and experience to balance trade-offs

      To Be Successful You Will Have

      • Experience in SLAM and robust sensory fusion algorithms for robotics or self-driving systems including visual and depth perception
      • Experience using data from optical and IMU sensors
      • Solid understanding and experience in design patterns, data structures and advanced programming techniques
      • Experience with embedded C/C++ and familiarity with a Linux Environment
      • Ability to introspect, analyze, and debug large, complicated software systems
      • Passion for robotics
      • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree
