What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Determine records to be released by reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Answer phone calls regarding various Release of Information (ROI) issues
- Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax information as needed
- Log medical record requests and scan records into the ROI On-Line database
- Handle and record cash payments for requests at specified sites

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year of experience entering data into computer systems
- Strong verbal communication skills with a proven ability to respond to customer inquiries
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals established by the employer
- Attention to detail and a proven track record of dependability

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician’s office or Health Information Management (HIM) Department
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
