What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review requestor information and determine records to be released in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Answer phone calls and address various ROI issues
- Process requests from walk-in customers and log information into the ROI On-Line database
- Log and scan medical record requests into the ROI On-Line database
- Handle and record cash payments for requests at specified sites
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 1 year of experience entering data into computer systems
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong verbal communication skills with a proven ability to respond to customer inquiries
- Attention to detail and a history of dependability
- Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician’s office or HIM Department is a plus
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
