Job Description

- Observes all safety and company policies and participates in company safety programs. Responsible for all safety guards and switches being in place and functional in assigned work area.
- Assists in the set-ups on printing equipment following established tasks.
- Prepares raw material rolls to be loaded on the unwind, verifying material matches order requirements in TWS (Transition Works).
- Reviews press retains (samples) after each roll for print defects and communicates defects to the Printing Press Operator(s) immediately.
- Follows the quality hold procedures for all nonconforming materials.
- Follows and meets production schedules for customer orders.
- Completes all required tasks in TWS (Transition Works), including issuing input rolls to the order, printing labels for finished goods, moving storage locations, and reporting production for the order.
- Completes required reports accurately.
- Acquires and demonstrates a good working knowledge of flexographic printing equipment and is able to web the press and perform most press operator level responsibilities.
- Able to teach and lead others, trouble shoot printing and peripheral equipment, and perform roll on-loading and off-loading.
- Shift to shift communication and hand over will be critical to performance standards.
- Must keep supplies ready at the press.
- Work with and through others to accomplish required tasks.
- Communicates concerns and ideas effectively to Supervision and Printing Management.
- Strictly follows all AIB, SQF and GMP audit guidelines.
- Maintains cleanliness of equipment, and participates in all print press cleaning and PM activities
- Actively participates in Continuous Improvement projects and teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Participate in SQF Housekeeping and Food Safety Programs. Provide plant housekeeping support.
- Requires basic educational background normally acquired through the completion of high school level programs leading to a diploma or GED.
- Must learn the operation of printing equipment through completion of Print Operator training program.
- Must have good color perception and the ability to see, read, and distinguish letters and/or symbols.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Requires a mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work overtime as required to meet schedule needs.
- Previous experience with Lean 6-Sigma is desirable.
- Experience in and understanding of Flexographic Printing desired.

Job DescriptionJob Summary
To safely assist in the set-up, adjustment, and monitoring of the printing press equipment to ensure it runs at prescribed quality and efficiency standards. Maintains cleanliness of the press equipment and assure all safety procedures are followed. Ensure that the printing area meets Huhtamaki housekeeping requirements. This responsibility is to be expected within the scope of all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Incumbent works in a manufacturing environment. Individual will work a set schedule including weekend work. Requires prolonged standing (75%) with occasional walking (25%). Individual will operate various printing machines. Individual will use various tools such as spatulas, Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, needle nose pliers and soft hammer. Requires twisting, bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling and climbing ladders. Incumbent may lift/carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Requires reaching above, at and below shoulders.
