- Provides superior customer service to all guests of the café, RPC and HST.
- Assists with the service of food items for the café, RPC and HST.
- Prepares ingredients for recipes including but not limited to washing, cutting, seasoning, cooking and storage of food items.
- Works efficiently and effectively with guests of Hy-Vee, all members of the RPC staff and office staff.
- Cleans, maintains, and assists with proper storage of equipment/supplies in the kitchen, café, RPC and HST.
- Prepares food according to Food Service Manager, Executive Chef, Banquet Chef, manager on duty or person in charge.
- Provides back up to other food prep specialist when necessary.
- Follows and maintains RPC food standards.
- Maintains food in café buffet lines and serves café lunch buffets.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Sets up buffets and food stations for RPC and HST.
- Assists with dishes in the RPC and HST.
- Assists with the inventory process.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
- Effective communicator.
- Ability to process and carry out detailed written, verbal, and demonstrated instructions.
- Must be able to physically preform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, up to 10 pound of force constantly to move objects.
- Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with without correction, depth, perception, color vision and field of vision.
- Must be able to fit and walk in confined spaces.
- Must be able to; climb, balance, kneel, reach, stand, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive movements.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Preps, prepares and serves food to guests of the café, The Ron Pearson Center (RPC) and Helpful Smiles Technology Center (HST).

Working Conditions
This position is exposed to flour, noise, and temperature extremes. There is frequent exposure to dampness, vibrations, equipment movement hazards, and occasional exposure to leaning chemicals/solvents. This is a fast paced environment with significant pressure.

All kitchen equipment. Including; cash register, fryers, oven, stoves, grills, toasters, can opener, griddle, chargrill, slicer, refrigerated food prep case, hot case, cold case, thermometers, knives, dishwasher, ice machine, coffee maker, scales, pop machine, calculator, computer, steamer, fax, copier, telephone.

Has frequent contact with general public and customers. Has contact with Federal/State government or regulatory agencies involving inspections.
