      Job Summary

      The Research Data Analyst is an integral part of a larger team of faculty and staff conducting research on molecular and other markers related to risk prediction, prevention, and identification of mechanisms associated with a number of chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes and preterm birth, and particularly in the highest risk populations based on race and other social factors.

      The incumbent will primarily work on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity.

      Under direct supervision, the applicant will apply skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data, specifically, literature review, data analysis, and interpretation of findings. In collaboration with the supervisor and the larger team, it is expected that the incumbent will contribute to dissemination of research findings in the form of manuscripts and/or abstracts.

      The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

      Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

      The salary range for this position is $61,200 - $77,700 (Annual Rate).

      Department Description

      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
      • Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.
      • Acquiring skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design and data security measures skills to perform research analysis duties.
      • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
      • Basic consultation and communication skills.
