Service: Rubber lining of metal work according to Weir’s quality standards. Cutting and assembly of rubber according to the drawing. Assist technicians with carrying out maintenance, repairs, inspections and overhauling on Weir Minerals equipment on customer sites or in the service centre, including assistance with installation and commissioning of pumps and other Weir Minerals products. General assistance as and when required, including cleaning/prepping of parts, spray painting and sandblasting. Dismantling of pumps and bearing assemblies. Load and unload trucks and assist with delivery of spares when required.
Customer support: Ability to identify solutions to improve equipment or processes on and off sites
Grade 12 / N3 Certificate or any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above
2-3 years’ rubber lining on site experience in mining environment
1-2 years’ rubber lining experience in a workshop or rubber related environment
Linatex rubber products experience is an advantage
Computer literacy
Must be physically fit
Manual dexterity
Clear communication at all levels
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Ability to work in a team and respond to management direction
Ability to solve problems in a timely manner

Purpose of Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient and high quality rubber lining of tanks, valves, pipes and similar products. The role will require rubber lining according to Weir’s quality standards and contributing to maintaining our standard of quality control in the workshop as well as on client sites.
The role will also include providing assistance to technicians to perform maintenance and service-related duties within the Service Centre or on client sites.
